Wedding Website...what to include???
So many people now are online for everyone-- shopping for clothes and even groceries that most brides have a wedding website. People always want to know what to include on the wedding website and how will guests find it?
How will guests find the wedding website?
If you are doing a save the date, then include the wedding website on the bottom or back and then every guest can get any and all information they need from the website. If you are not doing save the dates, then put it on your social media pages/get it out by word of mouth/and honestly most people will just google and be able to find it.
What to include on the wedding website?
About Us - make it fun!
how you met
how he proposed
facts about you as a couple
remember some guests are family and may only know the bride or groom and not know the other person at all...so use this as an opportunity to get to know you both as a couple and you can even include pictures of you two together
Facts about the wedding- Probably the most important part :)
Date of the wedding
Time of wedding and reception
Directions to the wedding and reception
Pictures of the venues, if you have them (this can be helpful for guests to visualize the space and help them plan their attire for the wedding weekend)
also include any other events throughout the weekend that you feel necessary to include (for example- you could say bridesmaids luncheon (invitations will go out soon) with the address or breakfast for our out of town family and we will send out invitations soon--- so people know that those are invitation only events)
Accommodations- Include a hotel where you have a room block (or 2) and the reason you picked that hotel (it is close to the venue, you have a great rate, it includes breakfast, etc.) then if you would like, include some other hotel options if you think guests need additional options, but make it clear that those are just other options, but those hotels do not have room blocks.
Recommendations-
Fun places you like to eat
activities you enjoy
talk up the town and why you picked this as your wedding venue--- examples: Brent's- they have amazing milkshakes and also where the movie "The Help" was filmed, or Fine and Dandy- best burgers in town, or if your in the mood for a margarita outside then Babalu is the place to be...just describe the town that you obviously love and get your guests excited to celebrate with you)
RSVP- With everyone online now, this allows guests to just click their RSVP instead of sending in cards. It is instant and super easy :)
Registry- This allows guests to click on your registries and see them all in one place.
Keep in mind that it is best to do at least one large store -Belk or Bed Bath and Beyond so people from all over can shop there; then one specialty specialty store like a William Sonoma for example; then a local store or two
Don't forget to keep the registries filled. This is most important at the end when everybody is buying gifts at the same time.
Wedding Party- It can also be fun to include the names of the wedding party
